2017 PDC world youth finalist Josh Payne will make his PDC Grand Slam debut this weekend.

The 24-year-old has been busy on the Pro Tour this season, winning Players Championship 12 in Milton Keynes. But it's his status as one of the PDC's top young players that means Payne will appear in Wolverhampton. He revealed that playing at the Grand Slam will make him the envy of many of his peers. "I'm feeling very good. Obviously it's a tournament everyone wants to play in," Payne told the . Payne fell narrowly short in his World Youth Championship bid. Dimitri van den Bergh took the title in a Minehead stage showdown during the Players Championship Finals. It was still enough for a Grand Slam berth for the youngster, and he reflected positively on the experience. "It's very different, compared to the other TV tournaments I've played," he said. "I thought I came into the game a bit too late, other than that I was really happy with the experience." Payne will meet Max Hopp in his Grand Slam opener on Saturday.
