Justin Pipe is through but had to survive a scare from the Kiwi qualifier and Oceanic Masters winner Bernie Smith who came from 2-0 down to force a final deciding set with Smith having two match darts to knock out 'The Force'.
Pipe averaged 89.24 to Smith's 87.11 with Pipe having 46% of his doubles in which made a difference with the crowd on his back for the most part as they tried to will Smith on to a 3rd seed in a row going out to a qualifier with Paul Lim and Kevin Munch the past two nights shocking the darting world but unfortunately for them it will be the Force who now plays the Power and once again it will be the question if can Pipe knock out Taylor and be the Power's last opponent.
Overall though Pipe can count himself lucky to be in Round 2 and will be hoping to bring some of the form he has shown in spells this year to the table against Taylor.
