Simon Whitlock is through after defeating German youngster Martin Schindler by 3 sets to 1 at the World Darts Championship as today's action comes to a close with Justin Pipe vs Bernie Smith last up.
The scoreline may seem quite comprehensive but it was a game riddled by missed doubles by both players. This showed with some good scoring but the averages at 87 for 'The Wizard' and 84 for 'The Wall'.
He will now play Devon Petersen or Darren Webster who play tomorrow night and you have to feel he has to get it sorted before then or he may be off home potentially as well without a Premier League spot which Whitlock is tipped to potentially get next year.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
