Kantele overcomes van der Voort & Meulenkamp knocks out under-par van den Bergh

The European Tour's first event of the season the European Darts Open continues into tonight's evening session with Marko Kantele and Ron Meulenkamp are the first players tonight to get through to Round 2 tomorrow with wins over Vincent van der Voort and Dimitri van den Bergh respectively.

Both players who got through were the outsiders before hand in terms of the betting but for Kantele he hit two ton-plus finishes and six out of 9 shots at the double to defeat 'The Dutch Destroyer'. He will face Dave Chisnall tomorrow.
Ron Meulenkamp knocked out the World Youth Champion, Dimitri van den Bergh to carry on from last season where he reached the semi-finals in Riesa. 'The Bomb' ousted 'The Dreammaker' who looked very much under par and this showed with Van den Bergh losing 6-3 with a 87 average.
