Kyle Anderson smashed through Jerry Hendriks with some brilliant finishing from the Auckland Darts Master and there were shocks with Dennis Nilsson defeating recent Euro Tour finalist Steve Beaton, Richie Corner dumping out Host Nation Qualifier Martin Schindler and also Peter Jacques continuing his brilliant year by beating Vincent van der Voort as the second round has took shape in Riesa.
Peter Jacques continued to add to the list of high profile names he has beaten this year by coming from 2-0 down to defeat Vincent van der Voort 6-4 and will face another Dutchman tomorrow in Benito van de Pas.
Richie Corner returned to the Euro Tour in style with 2 120 checkouts and a beautiful 147 checkout to defeat home favourite Martin Schindler 6-3 to book a place in the Second Round against Joe Cullen in what will be a Yorkshire derby.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
