In an all-Aussie final that no-one saw coming, Kyle Anderson beat Corey Cadby in a deciding leg to win his first World Series title at the Auckland Darts Masters.
Cadby started like a train with a 12 darter finishing with a 61 checkout on D20 to lead 1-0. Cadby doubled his lead on tops again in the early going to break and lead 2-0.
Cadby continued his early dominance and coasted to 3-0 in front. Anderson then pinned D10 to hold his throw and halt the dominance from the World Youth Champion. Despite this, Cadby took out 75 to hold his throw and go into the first interval 4-1 up.
A positive leg for Anderson meant he could hit tops and reduce the deficit to 4-2. He continued that with a stunning 160 checkout to reduce it even more to 4-3. Cadby missed darts in the following leg and Anderson took advantage to take out 80 to make it 4-4.

The World Youth Champion missed more darts at doubles and like with Wade in the semi-finals, Anderson was there to clean up and lead for the first time. Corey was finally back taking out tops to make it 5-5 at the second interval.
When back from the interval, Cadby took out 74 to regain the lead at 6-5. In the next leg he missed D10 for the 140 checkout and Anderson again was there to take out 76 to restore parity. He again missed doubles but Anderson could not punish the young Aussie and he returned for D5 to regain the lead.
Anderson was back to take out 70 after Cadby missed one shot at tops to break to regain parity again. On Cadby’s throw, he went 6 into the 9 dart finish but left 36 which meant he busted his score but Cadby couldn’t finish 80 which meant Anderson came back to hit D4 to lead 8-7.
He squandered three darts at double and the young man made it 8-8 and he was back on a high. This showed and he tidied up D9 to lead 9-8. He could have been one away but fluffed his lines and Anderson made it 9-9. Cadby though was not going to fold and the young Aussie hit D16 on his throw to go within one of the title.
Back came Kyle and he hit a 180 and took out 74 to force a last leg shootout with Cadby throwing for the title. Kyle ended up winning the match with a 68 finish in a thrilling match!
