Mensur Suljovic picked for German Darts Masters

Mensur Suljovic has secured a spot in a World Series event for the first time and will take part in the German Darts Masters later this month. 'The Gentle' is the top German-speaking player in darts and won the Champions League of Darts last month as well as a ProTour recently for the first time and now Mensur Mania will be alive and kicking in Dusseldorf.
Suljovic will join the likes of Gary Anderson who he defeated twice in the Champions League, Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen as well as Max Hopp and Martin Schindler, Germany's two best players in what will be a hotly contested tournament as the World Series comes to Germany for the first time ahead of their first ever Premier League date next year.
Barry Hearn spoke about Mensur, his achievements and basically how much he deserves the chance to shine on the World Series, a tour which due to his ranking he could be in full time next year.
"The World Series of Darts is all about spreading professional darts worldwide and giving fans a chance to see the best players in the world live in their region," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"Mensur's performances in reaching the European Championship final last year and winning the Champions League show that he fully deserves his spot amongst the sport's elite.
"He has been the standard-bearer in the region in recent years and helped to inspire the progression of the likes of Max Hopp and Martin Schindler, and has proven hugely popular throughout Germany."
