Michael van Gerwen is on the verge of another Euro Tour title after defeating Simon Whitlock in the semi-finals in Gottingen.
Van Gerwen has silenced the critics this weekend who questioned whether he was slipping after exits in the World Matchplay, Champions League and World Grand Prix recently and took out an in form player in 'The Wizard' Simon Whitlock 6-1.
He now turns his attention to 'Voltage' Rob Cross with Van Gerwen looking for another win over the new star of
PDC darts in a Euro Tour final while Cross will be angling for revenge after a 6-3 defeat to the World Number One in his first ET final but one thing we do know is that Van Gerwen can't be touched on top of the European order of merit and despite not entering the Players Championship as number 1 he will at the European Championship.
For Whitlock, the scoreline didn't tell the whole story with 'The Wizard' averaging just shy of 100 but a 110 average was just too good from Mighty Mike but a good last few weeks from Whitlock will give him plenty to shout about going into the last few major's before the Worlds.
