Michael van Gerwen won his fourth successive Dutch Darts Masters title defeating Steve Beaton 6-1 in the final to the delight of the crowd in Maastricht.
As usual, Mighty Mike wasn't at his sterling best but it was him hitting doubles when it counted that brought home the title for the former World Champion.
His last match in darts was a loss to Phil Taylor in the World Matchplay last month before the birth of his daughter but he showed that he wasn't going to have a losing return to darts with his 18th European Tour title.
Also a great weekend from Steve Beaton showing his form this year was no fluke and it assures him of European Championship qualification after previously being not sure of whether he would be in Hassalt.
