Paul Nicholson had his best run in around five years in a PDC tournament by reaching the semi-finals of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy. 'The Asset' has had a resurgence as of late which is dragging him back towards the world's top 64.

Nicholson won his tour card close to two years ago so would be going back to Q-School in 2019 if he is outside that top 64. It is looking likely now though that he will not only claim a World Championship spot but also his tour card again.
If his form stays steady for the rest of the year, he will accomplish his goal of staying in the darting elite or a charge further up the rankings could see spots in the World Grand Prix open up. This means it could have been a landmark run for Nicholson.
