Dennis Nilsson is the first winner of the day on the Challenge Tour. The former strongman who is well known in darts previously appearing at Lakeside, Alexandra Palace and the Euro Tour defeated Harry Ward 5-2 in the final to claim the title.
This is if information is correct, the Swede's first weekend on the Challenge Tour so it shows the quality of Nilsson that he has won his first title on the Challenge Tour.
He defeated the likes of Boris Koltsov and Barry Lynn on the way to the title and will be hoping to take that form into the second event of this day.
Ward on the other hand defeated the likes of Barrie Bates and David Pallett on the way to that final as the rise of 'Big H' part of the MDA Promotions stable continues.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
