Michael van Gerwen made it back-to-back finals at the European Darts Open as he defeated Mensur Suljovic in the semi-finals. The Dutchman also delighted the crowd with a brilliant nine-dart finish.

Suljovic broke Van Gerwen's throw in the fifth leg and moved into a 4-2 lead with a 14-darter. 'Mighty Mike' held his own throw with a 14-dart leg and then hit his nine-darter to level the match. The world number one left 147 after six darts and hit treble 19, bullseye and double 20 to complete his perfect leg.
The three-time world champion had the momentum back and claimed another two legs to move 6-4 ahead. Suljovic won the 11th leg, but the Dutchman claimed the win one leg later with a 13-dart leg.
