William O’Connor saw off Yordi Meeuwisse in what was a comprehensive victory for the Irishman.

He averaged 87 with a 107 checkout the real highlight for ‘The Magpie’. O’Connor spoke afterwards and admitted that he was happy with how he played throughout the match.
‘I’m feeling happy enough with the win and I’m happy with how I played,” said O’Connor. On whether his opponent was easier to beat than expected, ‘The Magpie’ admitted he was and that he’d prepared for the best from Meeuwisse.
‘Definitely easier than I expected. I expected Yordi (Meeuwisse) to turn up and play unbelievable darts, he didn’t. He didn’t play as he can play and I turned up expecting his best game. It dragged my game down a little bit.’
He will next take on James Wilson who has had a great year and he will expect similar from the newly rechristened Jammie Dodger.
‘James Wilson next and James isn’t going to make those sorts of mistakes and I am prepared for James’ best game as well.’
