Gary Anderson posted a superb 112.1 average as he reached the quarter-finals of Players Championship 2.

The Flying Scotsman defeated Rob Thornton 6-3, notching up three 12-darters in a brilliant performance. Anderson checked out 142 and 130 as he cruised past Thornton, despite the Thorn averaging 102.5 himself. Next up for the world number four is Corey Cadby, who thrashed Danny Noppert 6-1.
Michael van Gerwen survived four match darts before beating Luke Woodhouse 6-5 in Barnsley. The Dutchman meets Adrian Lewis, who beat Richie Burnett 6-4, in the quarter-finals. Either Simon Stevenson or Ryan Joyce will be in the last four. The Mirror Man, who earlier whitewashed Daryl Gurney, beat Kirk Shepherd 6-2. Joyce halted the run of Rapid Ricky Evans with a 6-3 success. Ian White and Steve West will play each other in the last quarter-final, after the pair bet Kim Huybrechts and Ryan Meikle respectively.
