Only eight remain in Minehead with one player crowned champion later in the Players Championship Finals.
It all kicks off with Daryl Gurney taking on Chris Dobey in the first Quarter-Final. Gurney is somewhat lucky to still be in the tournament but sometimes luck is needed and a big opportunity could await either player. This is because one of the four in the first two games will make the final with only Gurney having played in one before. Will his experience count for something in this clash? His opponent Dobey has been brilliant at times and the Bedlington ace could be a dark horse to win the title later. Danny Noppert takes on Stephen Bunting in the second quarter-final. ‘Noppie’ is a first time ranking winner this year and has gone under the radar at times in this tournament. His opponent has played brilliantly all tournament but has had a lot of close games so we could be in for a cracker. Then it is the turn of Gary Anderson who takes on Jonny Clayton in a tough test for Anderson. A match with his rival Michael van Gerwen could await but he will have to get through one of the form players in darts this year in ‘The Ferret’. If both players play close to their capabilities, we will be in for a quality clash. Finally the tournament favourite and world number one, Michael van Gerwen will take on Steve Lennon. Van Gerwen will be expected to blow Lennon away but he has fallen at this stage in a few tournaments this year so he will be hoping it doesn’t happen again. Lennon ran him close in a European Tour final earlier this year and he will hope to make a good account of himself and maybe even pull off the shock. for more information about the Players Championship Finals. 13:00 Daryl Gurney v Chris Dobey 14:00 Danny Noppert v Stephen Bunting 15:00 Gary Anderson v Jonny Clayton 16:00 Steve Lennon v Michael van Gerwen
