There was plenty of intrigue in the second round of the PDC World Series Finals.

Much to the Vienna crowd's chagrin, home favourite Mensur Suljovic has been dumped out. So too have fellow seeds Peter Wright, Gary Anderson and Rob Cross. With Daryl Gurney gone as well, only one of the PDC Order of Merit's top six remains. It's unfortunate for the rest of the field that it happens to be three-time World Series Finals winner Michael van Gerwen.
There are still eight players in the tournament, each in with a shout of coming out on top. After an Australian quartet was decimated on Saturday, Simon Whitlock is the last non-EU participant (yes, we're still pre-Brexit). The Wizard represents the rest of the world against Gerwyn Price. Building momentum after his thrashing of Peter Wright is the order of the day for the Iceman.
It's an all-English meeting in the second quarter-final. Michael Smith or Dave Chisnall will face Price or Whitlock in the semi-finals. Chisnall's on a high after beating Gary Anderson, while Smith showed a real touch of class to see off namesake Kyle.
Jamie Lewis has been the undoubted star of the World Series Finals so far. Two fantastic performances saw him defeat Dimitri van den Bergh and Rob Cross. Now the Welshman faces another tough assignment, with European champion James Wade standing in his way.
The two grand masters of Dutch darts (with apologies to Co Stompe) clash in the last quarter-final. Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld had a very different Saturday. Mighty Mike cruised past Damon Heta. Barney, meanwhile, was almost toppled by Raymond Smith. But all that will go out the window when the pair collide in Vienna.

Quarter-final schedule

Gerwyn Price v Simon Whitlock
Michael Smith v Dave Chisnall
Jamie Lewis v James Wade
Raymond van Barneveld v Michael van Gerwen
