The field is set for the Perth Darts Masters 2017 which is set to take place at the HBF Stadium in Perth, Australia this weekend (25-27th August). This is the sixth instalment of
World Series action for this year and the last event as part of the 3 event stretch of Oceanic based tournaments.
As usual the tournament will include 16 players including the eight
PDC players who have been invited in PDC and have been included in all of the events down under in the form of Gary Anderson who is the number 1 seed in the absence of World Number 1, Michael Van Gerwen who is having an absence due to the birth of his new daughter, recent Melbourne Darts Masters and World Matchplay champion Phil Taylor. Melbourne finalist Peter Wright, 7-time major champion James Wade, Daryl Gurney, Raymond van Barneveld, Simon Whitlock and Michael Smith.
They are joined in Perth by the two standouts of the Oceanic legs and that is Auckland champion Kyle Anderson and current World Youth Champion Corey Cadby who qualify through a wildcard and the DPA Order of Merit in the case of Cadby.
Also in Perth are the second and third place in the form of Rhys Mathewson who lost to Peter Wright last weekend and Justin Thompson who lost to Gary Anderson also in the same round.
Also involved are the experienced Rob Szabo who qualified through the DPNZ Qualifier and also Adam Rowe who has appeared for the last two years and Darren Hayes and Koha Kokiri who of course is very experienced.
As usual the first round will be played on the 25th August with it being first to 11 legs and the Quarter Finals being best of 19 and being played on the 26th with the Semi-Finals and Finals being wrapped up on the 27th August.
