Diogo Portela will be at the World Championship for the second year running after living up to his billing as favourite at the South/Central American qualifier.
It wasn’t easy though for Portela who had to come from 4-3 down to win three straight legs for the win and qualification.
This was against Sudesh ‘Kerry’ Fitzgerald in the final, a former World Championship participant from Guyana.
Now his attention will go to building up some late season form ahead of his second appearance at the Alexandra Palace.
As well as that, he will look to finally claim his tour card in January so this is good news ahead of that.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media.
