Wright ended up missing two darts for a draw when Price made sure of a point and The Iceman took advantage to claim a potentially important win.
Price started excellently hitting a 147 checkout to go one-nil up and he extended that lead by hitting double two. Wright fired back though smashing in a 117 checkout to get off the mark and smashed in another high checkout at 2-2 with a 160.
This was a game of back and forth and Price nearly achieved the unthinkable by going seven darts into a nine-darter. They ended up locked at 5-5 and Price hit an 11 darter including a 180 and 177 to clinch at least a point.
From there, Wright missed two darts for a draw and Price’s timely surge continued with him finalising the win.
