The next event on the BDO calendar takes place today, the Viscaya Open as players try to force their way up the Lakeside qualification table.
Last year the tournament was won by Jose de Sousa who defeated Jamie Hughes 6-0 in the final.
In terms of the Prize Fund Breakdown, for claiming victory in the tournament the winner gets £2,500 euros. The runner up claims 1300 Euro’s.
Prize money is handed out all the way down to the Last 32 where those who reach that stage will claim 50 euros.
In terms of the ladies, the winner gets 1000 euros and the runner up 500 euros. Like the men, the money is spread out until the last 32 where those who reach that stage get 20 euros.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
