Results first round PC1: Rodriguez edges out Gurney as Cullen loses to Dobey

Most of the big names didn't make a mistake in the first round of Players Championship 1. Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Rob Cross and Gary Anderson all booked their place in the second round.

Daryl Gurney was edged out by Rowby-John Rodriguez, after losing a deciding leg. Chris Dobey beat Joe Cullen to progress into the second round. Danny Noppert and Corey Cadby made a successful Pro Tour-event, as they both won their first match.
