GSOD17 Raymond van Barneveld

There will be a new 2018 Pro Tour winner at Players Championship Eight in Barnsley. Gary Anderson is the final player to bow out who has one this year. This has given a big opportunity to a host of players to either add to their haul of titles or win their very first.

Simon Whitlock, Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis remain involved with Lewis of course reaching the final yesterday. Whitlock's prowess on the floor is very well known and he will hope to add another Players Championship title to his collection.
'Barney' has not won a title in quite a number of years despite his legendary status in the world of darts and this is the best opportunity for him to do so after some poor draws the past two days have blighted his progress thus far.
The only other Premier League player barring Whitlock and Van Barneveld still involved is Gerwyn Price who knocked out Danny Noppert. The likes of Max Hopp, Ricky Evans and Toni Alcinas who are in the bottom half of the draw will see today as a perfect opportunity to claim a title.
Mickey Mansell has had a great day so far and he is also through to the Last 16 as is Ryan Joyce who has had a great year so far on the Pro Tour and might claim the title later on today.
