Results Players Championship Eight, Last 16: Webster continues resurgence & Lewis makes it back to back Quarter-Finals

The quarter-final line up for today's eighth Players Championship event is set and will see the likes of Mark Webster face Simon Whitlock and Gerwyn Price face Mickey Mansell as the weekend's second event comes to it's conclusion.
Webster came through against Raymond van Barneveld who you have to feel had his best chance of winning a ProTour title for the first time in a long time. It was a breakthrough win though for 'Webby' who hit a 102 average his highest on record for more than 2 years.
This is what it took to stop 'Barney' and he will face Whitlock for the first time in a latter stage since the 2008 Lakeside World Championship final.
Adrian Lewis has made it back-to-back Quarter-Finals after his final appearance yesterday backing up that the form is still there, will he hit the Jackpot come the end of the day??
Gerwyn Price will face Mickey Mansell, for Price he came through a tricky test against Jamie Lewis and Mansell smashed Robert Thornton to continue a great day for the Clonoe Cyclone.
Finally Josh Payne will face Toni Alcinas in a big opportunity for either with both players unseeded of course.

- Many fans had a sour taste in their mouth by the end of this match. Mike was cruising to victory, playing beautiful darts, when the whistling started in earnest, particularly on his doubles. You could see in Mike's face that it was really affecting his concentration. The referee should have asked for order, just to show that the whistling is unacceptable, and Luke Littler could also have done his part to quieten down the crowd instead of "taking full advantage.:" I put that down to his age though. He needs some good advice on this from his management team and/or more seasoned players. It's got to be about who's best on the night, not who is being harassed by the crowd. Luke Littler played well to get back into the game and win, but it was a hollow victory. If he goes on to win the tournament, that triumph too will be tainted because of this match.
