Results Players Championship 11, Last 16: Smith whitewashes Van de Pas

We are getting into the latter stages of Players Championship 11 as the Quarter-Finals are now confirmed in Milton Keynes. The names left in the reckoning include Peter Wright, Gary Anderson and Adrian Lewis.
Wright got through by smashing Adam Hunt 6-1 and he will face Ricky Evans who saw off Dave Chisnall by the same scoreline. ‘Snakebite’ has performed brilliantly today; and could be a good bet to add to his Players Championship tally.
There will be an unseeded player in the latter stages with Brendan Dolan having a brilliant run and he will face either Paul Nicholson or Gabriel Clemens. Dolan is a former ranking winner but has not had the best time of it lately so a Players Championship win would do him the world of good.
Michael Smith is also through with the Bully Boy whitewashing Benito van de Pas who was having a resurgent run. Therefore he will face Darren Webster who has led 4-1 in most of his games today and saw off Danny Noppert.
In the final Quarter-Final, Gary Anderson will face Adrian Lewis in what will be a quality clash between two former World Champions.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
