Results Players Championship 15, Quarter-Finals: Webster vs King and Beaton vs Wade in semi-finals

We have our confirmed semi-finals at Players Championship 15 with four well known names but not title winners in a little while remaining in the hunt.
The first semi-final will see Mervyn King, a former 5 time Players Championship winner but not for 7 years take on Mark Webster who hasn’t reached this stage in two years. King saw off Ian White 6-4 and was first through while Webster went 5-0 up and missed handfuls of match darts which allowed his opponent Jarred Cole back to 5-4 but he finally got over the line. In the second semi final it sees James Wade who has looked very much back to his old self today face Steve Beaton who is the most recent title winner out the four winning a title last year in this series. Wade beat Rob Cross 6-3 with a 100 average and Beaton beat Michael Smith to get through. for more information on the Pro Tour. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises. It happens, I have watched and heard Littler being jeered - Dirk van Duijvenbode in Holland, January this year. Where was your outrage then?
