Results Players Championship 16, Last 128: Wright, Cross and Smith all safely through

Peter Wright defeated Arron Monk 6-5 and will be hoping to have a similar second day to last time where he claimed the tournament win at Players Championship 14.
Rob Cross navigated through a tough test in Ross Smith who has been in form as of late since his PDC return 6-2. Michael Smith like Wright came through a decide against George Killington 6-5.
In terms of the World Matchplay race, the only player really to lose who had his place under threat was Alan Norris. Jelle Klaasen who is being chased by Vincent van der Voort and Richard North is through but as are the latter two.
