Results Players Championship 9, Last 128: Van Gerwen, Gurney & Anderson all safely through

Van Gerwen had a potential tough test in World Championship semi-finalist and someone who has played well on the floor this year, Jamie Lewis but he won 6-2 in the 1st round of the Players Championship.
The other two players mentioned, Daryl Gurney and Gary Anderson, enjoyed whitewash victories over Terry Temple and Gary Eastwood respectively.
The World Champion Rob Cross has not had any woes so far in this Players Championship weekend. He got a whitewash victory over Martin Schindler.
Barring that there have been no real shock exits but the likes of a winner last time out Mickey Mansell is out. Dimitri van den Bergh who lost out to Ross Smith.
