Rob Cross is the tentative 23rd seed for the World Championship taking into account at least first round prize money for the remaining majors of the year that Cross will be a part of. This is an astonishing stat for the former electrician who started the year with zero and at the bottom of the rankings and has included multiple Pro Tour titles, Euro Tour finals and a major final this past Sunday in Hasselt.
If it does end up like stated below, Kevin Painter will once again just get a spot in the World Championship after previously getting good fortune especially last year when he got a spot due to Kyle Anderson's visa issues. Also Steve Lennon, Peter Jacques and Richard North will make their debuts at the Alexandra Palace with all three having great years and are well deserving of the spot.
Cross finally has the highest ever seeding for a first time entrant in the Worlds with Mervyn King, Raymond van Barneveld just below which shows how good he is and also the other 3 previously had BDO success while Cross came from the Challenge Tour so even more astonishing from 'Voltage'.
