In light of the number of players being involved in the PDC World Championship being expanded, the amount of sessions have also been increased especially in the afternoon of certain days.
The tournament starts on the 13th December running all the way to New Years Day 2019. Last year Rob Cross claimed the title defeating Phil Taylor in the final in his final ever World Championship.
The World Darts Championship consists of twelve afternoon sessions and sixteen evening sessions. Because the field of participants has expanded from 72 to 96 players, it was necessary to schedule extra afternoon sessions.
Until Christmas the first two rounds are on the program. In addition, a start is made on the third round, with 32 players remaining in the tournament. After the Christmas break, the third round is completed, after which the tournament is completed.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media.
