Scott Baker post Q-School Interview: ‘It was a relief to get the job done outright’

Scott Baker claimed his Tour Card outright on day two of PDC UK Q-School with ‘The Mod’ joining Mark McGeeney on the PDC Tour.

Baker spoke in an interview with Dartsnews.com afterwards and said that it was a relief to get it done outright.
‘It was tough but I’ve been throwing steady and felt completely relaxed. It was a relief to get the job done out right and not to rely on points.'

BDO sanctions

The BDO sanctions for playing at the Q-School were lifted in 2018. 'The Mod' was very pleased with this decision, as he did always had the ambitions to try it.
‘I was pleased as I’ve always wanted a crack at Q-School and to see if I had what it takes to compete on the other side.’

Lakeside

Baker had a decent year on the BDO circuit, with playing at BDO World Trophy and the Lakeside. The Tipton ace won the Wolverhampton Classic and reached the quarter-finals at the England Open and BDO World Trophy. At the Lakeside he just came too short against Glen Durrant, who beat him 4-3 in the second round.
‘I thought I had a decent year. Won a few events, took part in all the majors, represented my country at the British Internationals, then finished it all off with a cracker against Glen Durrant at Lakeside.’

Pro Tour

Ahead of the opening Pro Tour weekend, Baker said that he’s really looking forward to getting started. ‘I’m really looking forward to it, worked hard to get here now is my chance to take it a step further.’ Interview conducted with Samuel Gill, writer for Dartsnews.com.
