Simon Whitlock ends Boulton's run and will play Van Gerwen in semi-finals

Simon Whitlock ended Andy Boulton's dream run to set up a semi-final against either Michael van Gerwen or Joe Cullen in the semi-finals. He defeated X-Factor 6-4 despite a late comeback from the Scotland based Englishman. Whitlock came up with some exquisite finishing including a brilliant 124 and will be one of the main favourites for the title based on form.
His opponent will be Michael van Gerwen who whitewashed number 9 seed Joe Cullen in the other Quarter-Final, 'The Rockstar' hasn't beaten Mighty Mike for 3 years and this run continues as the World Number One was too good for the Bradford man and Whitlock might have to play his best to get close to him at this rate.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
