Smith, Cross, Chisnall & Huybrechts through to Quarter-Finals in Gottingen

Michael Smith started proceedings in the afternoon session by dispatching someone in very good form in 'The Ferret' Jonny Clayton 6-3. Smith averaged 94 in his win and is the first man through to the Quarter-Finals this evening.
Rob Cross will face Smith after 'Voltage' dispatched Keegan Brown 6-2 in the highest average performance of the day so far. Cross averaged 105 against Brown in a 6-2 win against a tricky opponent who is returning to form.
Dave Chisnall is also through after overcoming Jelle Klaasen. 'Chizzy' will face either Peter Wright or Kim Huybrechts later on after averaging 100 and hitting six 180's to win 6-3.
He will face Huybrechts in the Quarter-Finals after 'The Hurricane' defeated Peter Wright 6-3. Wright averaged 110 and mounted a late comeback but his doubling let him down and Huybrechts pounced to get through with only a 98 average.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
