'Bully Boy' went 3-1 up securing those 3 legs but Gurney hit a 147 checkout to make it 3-2 before later on grabbing a break with a 167 checkout before he went on to secure at least a point. At 6-5 to Gurney it was Smith's time to fight back and he did so.
He hit a 81 checkout on the bullseye in style to draw 6-6 and claim a point. Gurney's only hope now is if Raymond van Barneveld can beat Gary Anderson and even then his chances remain slim.
