Van Gerwen smashes Cross to win league phase for sixth consecutive year

Michael van Gerwen at times this year has looked unbeatable and this is once again one of those times. He smashed Rob Cross 7-2 to win the league phase of the Premier League for a sixth consecutive year and send out a message to the chasing pack.

He looked so unbeatable that he hit the highest average of the league season with 111.57 which is the same average it took to beat him on Sunday at Players Championship 10 by Jonny Clayton.
Backing that up he also hit three 180's and a high checkout of 144 in his best performance of the season to clinch the £25,000 league winners bonus.
