Mensur Suljovic was impressive in coming from behind to share the spoils in the opening tie of the evening with Michael Smith as the Premier League hits Birmingham.

Suljovic was 6-2 down and seemingly falling to a potentially heavy defeat to Smith but he came back in a brilliant spell to go one away from the win but in the end he had to settle for a draw.
Smith kicked off the contest well hitting a 180 in what ended up being an 11 darter. He followed that up with a second maximum score and double 12 to double his lead.
Suljovic got off the mark though with double four to halve the deficit but Smith ended up extending his lead to 3-1 up following that with him in the ascendancy.
The Austrian went again to one behind but Smith stamped his authority further with him going to 6-2 up soon after with him increasing his average as well but he couldn’t keep that up.
Suljovic’s turning point was a 120 checkout to trail 6-3. He made it three legs on the spin to trail 6-5. 'Bullyboy' missed one dart at double 20 to go one away and Suljovic pounced to make it 6-6.
He rattled in a 116 checkout to move ahead and one away himself but in the next leg, Smith held his throw with a clutch double eight to draw.
