Superb Van der Voort wins to set up clash with Cross in Sindelfingen

Vincent van der Voort booked a hard-fought victory over Steve Lennon in the first round of the European Darts Grand Prix. The former Austrian Darts Open Champion will meet Rob Cross in the second round on Saturday evening.

Lennon took a 2-0 lead, after hitting a 160 finish in the second leg. However, Van der Voort made 2-2 with back-to-back 14-dart legs. 'The Dutch Destroyer' hit 11-dart legs to take 3-2 and 5-4 leads, before claiming victory in the tenth leg with a 72 check-out.
Dimitri van den Bergh was beaten by Matt Padgett earlier on the afternoon. While Madars Razma and Arron Monk also moved into the second round in Sindelfingen.
