Tony O'Shea will not be at Lakeside for the first time in 16 years

Tony O'Shea is definitely not in Lakeside 2018. The English darter lost during the qualifying tournament at the last 64 stage by Alan Soutar.
"Silverback" played the qualifying tournament because he was not in the top 26 of the BDO ranking. O'Shea finished in 55th place.
Thus, there will be an end to a long series of participation at the main tournament for the BDO from O'Shea. From 2002, the Englishman has always been present at Frimley Green up to this point. O'Shea made the final three times, but never managed to win the tournament. The last four editions lost the seven-time major finalist in the first round.
