UK Open Qualifying 1 results, semi-finals: Van Gerwen to face Smith in final of first ProTour of 2018

Michael van Gerwen will take on Michael Smith for the first ProTour title of the year after both men capped off brilliant days by reaching the final of the first ProTour of the year. Both men are assured of their qualification to the UK Open but will be wanting a high seeding and the pride of winning the first floor title of the year.

Van Gerwen defeated Adrian Lewis convincingly 6-3 with a 108 average for 'Mighty Mike' who like on TV has been relentless bringing his form to the floor in something that is a lot of the time rarely seen by the World Number One who when he competes in the ProTours isn't as dominant.
His opponent is Michael Smith, the 'Bully Boy' who defeated Gary Anderson last night in the Premier League defeated Peter Wright 6-3 averaging 100 in a fine display from the St Helens ace.
