UK Open structure changed to include Development Tour qualifiers from 2020

The UK Open has been changed for the 2020 edition with Development Tour qualifiers introduced from the next edition onwards.
The invitations from the Challenge Tour and Development Tour rankings will be finalised following the 2020 PDC Qualifying Schools; this gives some of the best youth players the chance to shine. "The 2019 Ladbrokes UK Open was a huge success and the new format for the tournament proved popular with players and fans," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. "We saw what some would consider surprise results with six former champions being knocked out on the opening day, and a superb weekend finished with a new PDC champion in Nathan Aspinall. "The reaction to this year's event has been very positive and we believe that the addition of eight qualifiers from the Development Tour will further enhance next year's Ladbrokes UK Open."
