Van Barneveld Labanauskas 2

Raymond van Barneveld is the latest casualty in potentially his final PDC World Darts Championship. He lost in a deciding set to Darius Labanauskas.

Darius was brilliant throughout and matched the five time World Champion to ultimately send him crashing out. Both players held their throws for the first few legs of the match before Labanauskas broke the throw of Barney with some great darts hitting an 82 (bullseye and double 16) checkout with him averaging 102 compared to Barney's 79.
Van Barneveld started the second set by hitting a 180 on his way to holding throw. He hit yet another 180 but missed darts to break meaning Darius could hold his throw.
Like with the first set, both players continued to hold their throw. This in turn put it into a decider. Van Barneveld held his nerve to hold throw, hitting a 72 checkout.
Van Barneveld had a chance of a break of throw but didn't take it and this allowed Darius to hold throw. Barney missed multiple doubles but Darius did not take advantage and it became 1-1. He began the next leg hitting a 180 and nearly got onto the nine only for Darius to pin a 99 checkout.
Van Barneveld held throw to then send it into a decider. In this decider it was Darius that claimed the set.
The next set also went into a decider with Barney holding his nerve to level up once more and send it into a deciding set.
From there Labanauskas claimed a clean sweep to send the multiple time World Champion packing.
