Joyce wasn't really troubled up until the final set where Anastasia asked the question of the debutant and nearly grabbed a set but it is the Newcastle ace who moves through to the next round.
Anastasia started well holding her throw amid pressure in the form of a 180 from Joyce. Dobromyslova hit her first 180 herself in the second leg to rapture from the Alexandra Palace crowd but a 106 checkout dispelled a chance of an early break. Joyce followed it up with another ton plus checkout followed by a 96 checkout to win the first set.
Joyce started the next set by pinning double eight to hold his throw and go one up. He pinned this again in the next leg in a 19 combination to go one away from being two sets to nil up.
'Relentless' like his nickname suggests was just that with him finishing 42 to claim the second set showing great composure on his debut on the Alexandra Palace stage.
Dobromyslova finally claimed another leg hitting double six after previously missing a 170 checkout in the leg. The multiple time Lakeside Ladies World Champion claimed another leg when Joyce faltered on breaking her throw.
Joyce went one away and to put pressure on Anastasia to hold her throw by pinning double eight. Dobromyslova was way back on 184 then 124 allowing him a bit of extra time to hit the winning double and he did claiming a straight sets win.
