Van Barneveld hits three ton-plus checkouts during opening round win over Szekely, Hopp edges out Aspinall

The opening day of action at the Dutch Darts Masters is complete with Raymond van Barneveld, Max Hopp and Ritchie Edhouse making it through.

Van Barneveld got off and running in his final ranking tournament in Holland by claiming a 6-2 victory over Pal Szekely from Hungary and hit high checkouts of 156, 126 and 149 to claim the win with ease in Zwolle.
Hopp in his tie with Nathan Aspinall, another repeat of their World Youth Championship final battle came out on top with him defying a 100 average to win in a deciding leg and claim his place in the Last 32.

Finally Edhouse completed the second round line-up in the final game of the evening as he eased past another of the Host Nation Qualifiers in Jimmy Hendriks who was making his return to the European Tour.
The ship didn't sail though for 'Captain Jimmy' with 'Madhouse' making it through to Day Two of action.
