Van den Bergh on back to back World Youth Championship wins: ‘This is more beautiful than last year’

Dimitri van den Bergh claimed back to back World Youth Championship title wins on Sunday defeating Martin Schindler.
Van den Bergh spoke afterwards and said it feels better than last year.
Also that it is something he will remember forever and now he will focus on the World Championship.
"It feels incredible." said Van den Bergh. "I knew that I had the chance to make history and this is more beautiful than last year.
"Knowing that I'm back-to-back champion is something I will remember forever. I'm very, very happy that I played like I did because Martin is a fighter."
"In the World Youth Championship I've done my best and shown the young players that if you believe in yourself you can follow your dreams," he added.
"I will be stronger now at the World Championship and will be focused on taking it step by step."

- What a undignified way to bow out of the darts for the greatest darts player ever, absolutely the best. Nobody was as dedicated or committed or even half as good as Phil. He completely dominated darts, not only the greatest darts player ever but also one of the greatest sportsman ever. Ayrton Senna is my ultimate hero but Phil won 16 World Championships, Eric only won 5 and that won't be surpassed. Thank you Phil, not my most favourite player but certainly the greatest and loved watching you completely destroy every opponent, almost never missed a treble or any check out. - I don't have a problem with someone being whoever they want to be, but ultimately there is a Ladies and Mens format for a reason. What is going to stop substandard men claiming that they are transgender and entering the ladies format for an opportunity to increase their profile, prize money, ranking etc etc. We know that the current crop of PDC players will suck up to van Leuven and will not speak out.richieburnettrocks23-10-2024
- The bottom line is Beau will be a triple World Champion soon. She is so many levels better than the rest of the ladies. Lorraine and Aileen have never really raised their game, I really expected the quality of the ladies game to have improved but excluding Beau, it seems to have detiorated. Beau is too modest and could easily mix with the men and beat most of them.richieburnettrocks23-10-2024
