Michael van Gerwen has been utterly sublime this weekend but was made to work in the final of the German Darts Championship.

Van Gerwen saw off James Wilson in an 8-6 victory who claimed of course more legs than any other player this weekend. Wilson came back into the game late on to show that he wasn’t giving up without a fight nearly forcing a decider.
Despite that it was a winning return and a 27th European Tour title for MVG. He has enjoyed most of his success on this tour this year and this has not wained despite a poor World Matchplay and World Series during the summer.
