Van Gerwen after European Tour win in Hildesheim: “I’m happy with how I played this weekend”

Michael van Gerwen claimed another European Tour title this past weekend, the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim.
Van Gerwen admitted that he was pleased with his weekend’s efforts. This win has also given him the fuel with him saying he wants to win every title now in the rest of 2018.
"It's hard to perform at a high standard every week but I'm happy with how I played this weekend," said Van Gerwen.
"I didn't make too many mistakes which is always pleasing and I loved playing in front of this great crowd.
"I think 17 tournament wins so far this year isn't bad!
"There are so many tournaments coming ahead and I want to win every one of them. I'm going to be at it non-stop until the end of the year."

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
