Michael van Gerwen has secured a fourth title of the season at Players Championship 3 in Wigan.

Van Gerwen defeated Ian White in an 8-5 win in the final. He adds to his previous Players Championship triumph, The Masters and World Championship title.
The highlights included a 170 and two 160 checkouts. White did have his chances towards the end but it was too little too late and MVG took home the title.
The world number one was not at his best on Saturday, but only suffered one main scare. That came against Ross Smith where the Deal ace was on the verge of knocking Mighty Mike out. From there though he defeated the likes of Jamie Hughes, Dimitri van den Bergh, Gavin Carlin and Mervyn King.
