Van Gerwen starts campaign with whitewash victory & will face Webster on final day in Zwolle

The final two winners through to the final day in Zwolle are Michael van Gerwen and Darren Webster who will face off tomorrow in a repeat of their quality match from last time out on the Euro Tour.
'Mighty Mike' swept Terry Jenkins aside as he gave the home crowd a real show. He's a reigning four time champion in the tournament and will be a huge favourite to make it five and add yet another Euro Tour crown.
Trying to stop him though will be Darren Webster who defeated Steve Beaton, the finalist in last year's tournament to set up yet another meeting with Van Gerwen. A good win for the 'Demolition Man' who hit a 94 average, 54% n his doubles and 3 180's.

It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
