Menzies on reaching final day of European Tour for first time: ‘It’s an amazing feeling’

Cameron Menzies has reached the final day of a European Tour for the first time after defeating Dave Chisnall in a brilliant encounter.
’Cammy’, a recent switcher from the BDO has enjoyed some success so far and spoke afterwards calling it an amazing feeling. He admitted that when the lucks going your way you have to make the most of it which he has done in reaching the final day. “It’s an amazing feeling to reach the final day of a European Tour event for the first time,” said Menzies, who sank to his knees after hitting the winning double. “When your luck’s going your way, you need to make the most of it and ride the waves of success. “I’ve known Dave for a long time, he’s a great guy and a great player so to beat him on this stage is a proud moment for me.”

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
