Van Gerwen wins dramatic decider and Smith defeats Owen

Michael van Gerwen won the first Quarter Final in dramatic fashion defeating Daryl Gurney 6-5 and after holds of throw throughout, MVG broke him at the final opportunity to dump out Superchin with the World Number One doing it when it counted as usual. A 104 average sees him face either Michael Smith or Robert Owen in the Semi-Finals later.
Michael Smith will be the man that faces him as he defeated probably the player of the weekend Robert Owen in another decider winning 6-5 and despite him not being at his best having a 89.76 average he took out 36 on D9 to win the match.
Michael Van Gerwen (104.13) 6 (11) 5 (94.47) Daryl Gurney
Michael Smith (89.76) 6 (11) 5 (90.64) Robert Owen
