Van Gerwen wins ninth PDC title of 2018 defeating Taylor at Players Championship 9 in Wigan

Michael van Gerwen has done what he does best and that is win titles. He defeated Scott Taylor to claim Players Championship Nine in Wigan, his fourth title in the series this year.
It was a closely fought final with Taylor only going down 6-4 but it was a champagne shot from 'Mighty Mike' in a 132 checkout that grabbed a 9th title of the year for Van Gerwen.
MVG didn't have it all his own way today and it could be said potentially that he rode his luck at times but it is that luck that makes champions.
He will be back tomorrow to try and claim back-to-back Players Championship titles for a second time this season already.
